I am a Philadelphia-based writer, reporter, and storyteller.

I began my career in China, and still approach writing as an act of translation.

​

Whether something happens in a foreign country, a city neighborhood, or an industry steeped in jargon, people talk about it in their own language – one that outsiders may not understand.

 

My job is to decode accurately and explain clearly. That means listening without bias, writing without ego, and asking question upon question until I've got the story right.
